Description
DUTY OF THE DAY by Robert Taylor
With D-Day and the invasion of Europe drawing ever closer, Mosquito crews from 487 Squadron RNZAF, part of the 2nd Tactical Air Force, prepare to depart from their base at Hunsdon on a raid to assist in the degradation of German military infrastructure prior to the Allied landings.
In a painting worthy of the one of the foremost ground-attack aircraft ever to take to the skies, Robert portrays the squadron who went on to gain notoriety for their role in Operation Jericho, the Amiens prison raid, which is considered one of the finest precision raids of the war.
Faithfully reproduced as a Limited Edition print, every copy has been personally signed and authenticated by a highly-regarded veteran who flew the ‘wooden wonder’ in combat during the war:

George Sharp –
I was really taken by the amount of detail shown in this print. It was full of action, even down to the distant Lancaster orbiting over RAF Hunsdon. The print arrived in fine condition, and will shortly be in the hands of my picture framer. As an aside, since we recently lost Flt Lt Des Curtis, DFC, L’dH, RAF, I was especially glad to see his signature in the margin. Thank you for the prompt service.
