DEVASTATING STRIKE by Robert Taylor
Mosquito Mk.VIs from 143 Squadron, part of the famous Banff Strike Wing, deliver a blistering rocket attack on enemy shipping off the Norwegian coast in early 1945.
It was less glamorous than the Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Battle of Britain and wasn’t seen as the backbone of Bomber Command, yet the de Havilland Mosquito can arguably claim to be the RAFs ‘finest’ aircraft of WWII. Its greatest attribute was speed and the Mosquito became the best multi-role combat aircraft of the war – no other Allied military aircraft was built in so many versions for so many roles during its long and distinguished career.
One such role was with the renowned Banff Strike Wing and adding great authenticity, this powerful print has been personally signed by two decorated veterans who flew with the unit during WWII:
Flight Lieutenant BRIAN BEATTIE (Pilot)
Flight Lieutenant DES CURTIS DFC (Navigator)
