Emergency Wood Appeal – The Results

Thank you!

You did it! – £32,419.57 raised in just 2 weeks!

We recently announced how a recent donation of specialist glue, a phenolic resin used to bond the three layers of Grade A veneers that form the 1.5mm inner and outer fuselage plywood skins was in danger of going out of date before we had sufficient funds to purchase the wood itself.

This led to our Emergency Wood appeal and your tremendous response that generated the total in only a matter of two weeks! We can now press on. Do keep following our newsletters for the latest updates.

Laminating the fuselage shells during wartime production. With your help, we can press on with doing the same.

Absolutely superb.

THANK YOU ONE AND ALL FOR SUPPORTING THIS CAMPAIGN

  1. I just finished reading ‘Mosquito by Rowland White. He mentioned your charity at the end of his book. Yall are doing a good thing here.

  2. Only just signed up to your newsletter. Please note that I was an apprentice at Dehavilands and my Father was the Chief Inspector on Mosquito wings when they were made at the ESA in Stevenage. I remember as a child being shown the wings being made in the factory and seeing the transport lorrys that they called the Queen Mary loaded and ready for the delivery and they did not move off until it was dark.
