Want to meet the team?

As the 2017 airshow season draws to a close, there are still a couple of opportunities to come along to The People’s Mosquito stand and meet some of our board members as well as see our outstanding volunteers in action.

Scampton Airshow 9-10 September

The inaugural Scampton Airshow, at the home of the Red Arrows, promises a weekend of thrilling action combining modern military jets, historic warbirds (no Mossie yet, but we’re working on it!) and a choice of civilian-owned displays. The Swedish Airforce Historic Flight will be joined by their Scandinavian neighbours from Norway, who will be displaying their De Havilland Vampire FB.52 and De Havilland T.55…  (did you know the Vampire used moulded plywood in its construction – a technique perfected on the Mosquito?)

Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show 23-24 September 2017

This year’s final event of the season provides the chance to enjoy an unrivalled line-up of Warbirds (with at least one glaring exception). Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress ‘Sally B’ joins a unique line up of Spitfire and Hurricane marks along with Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF  as well as North American P-51D ‘Miss Helen’ to name a few.

LLA Day Members Day 1 October 2017

The members of Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association, the official Registered Charity supporting the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, have kindly invited The People’s Mosquito to join them on the day, which will be hosted by BBMF at RAF Coningsby. Our Ops Director, Wing Commander Bill Ramsey is looking forward to catching up with old friends from his time flying the BBMF’s Lancaster and Dakota in 1999. Please note, this is a ticket only event for LLA members.

We hope to meet you all before the season ends! Come along armed with questions and we’ll be delighted to tell you more about DH.98 Mosquito FB.VI RL249’s return to flight.
